Future of Mobile wasn’t amazing yesterday - a couple of nice talks but seemed to be either a lot of ranting about what doesn’t work with mobile or just very techie presentations. Anyway was in covent garden in the evening so ended up popping into the Magma bookstore - got quite a few nice shiny new books, the favourite of which was Playful Type edited by R. Klanten and H. Hellige

On Monday I’m off to the latest carsonisfied event - the Future of Mobile conference. I think it should be pretty exciting (though to be honest I’m not quite sure what to expect) … one thing I thought was quite funny is this guy is one of the key speakers:

I love animation. I love how diverse and creative it can be. Really loved this piece composed entirely of machine-knitted frames. The music is by the Montreal band Tricot Machine (which translates to ‘knitting machine’). Found on Drawn!

Wierdest / filthiest video is a joint winner by Eric Wareheim for Parisian Goldfish by Flying Lotus and also Keith Schofield’s viral trailer for Diesal.

Love this video - excepts for the ‘My Secret Heart‘ exhibition, the visuals were created mainly in C++/openGL/openFrameworks (the ribbons, stars, particles) and composited with the silhouettes (shot for real) in aftereffects.
